What causes breast asymmetry?
There are several possible causes: Congenital breast deformities – This is the most common cause, usually presenting during puberty due to a problem with breast development.
It includes conditions such as tuberous breast deformity, constricted breast deformity, or Poland’s Syndrome.
Breastfeeding – Some women develop asymmetry after breastfeeding.
Previous surgery – Wide local excision of breast cancer or other breast lumps may result in asymmetry.
Radiotherapy – Treatment for breast cancer can cause one breast to shrink, leading to asymmetry.
